  • Hello there! I am Paula Kathlyn and you have found me in one of my favorite places...my blog! I'm a Southern gal, a wife, and a Mama of two. If I could sum up my blog in just a few words they would be, "Making the every day a little more fun!"
My blog is home ec online, but don't let the home ec part fool ya. We aren't talking about your grandma's Home Ec here!
My goal is to make crafting, cooking, and homemaking fabulous, fun, and as easy as possible.
Why? Because life is too short to be boring :)

Easter!

Sorry friends for the blog post delay.  We’ve been a little bit crazy round’ these parts.

We traveled to Virginia for Easter and the kids and I are staying for a little while.  I’m working on some things and spending time with family!

Such a fun trip for us, and I could soooo get used to all this help:)

Here are some of my favorite pictures from Easter.

Easter Basket time!

And last but not least, Caleb did such a great job at his little Easter program for school.

Precious!

How was your Easter weekend?

Fashion Friday- Stripes and Prints

I love mixing and matching patterns!

I found this scarf on sale at Burlington Coat Factory and I have gotten sooo many compliments on it!

The striped tshirt and skinny jeans are some comfy basics from Old Navy.

I’ll be honest, this is my go-to outfit.

You know the one where you get excited that you can wear again when you know you won’t see the same people you saw when you wore it yesterday?

It’s been warm down here in the south.  We spent all day Wednesday and Thursday playing outside.

I set up my paint workshop in the garage and Lorelei and Caleb followed each other around, having a blast and getting absolutely filthy!

The dirtier the kid is at the end of the day,  the more fun you know they had;)

Happy Fashion Friday my fabulous friends!

Have I ever mentioned how much I love alliteration?;)

Oh my goodness, I am not surprised that you’re getting compliments on that scarf – it’s divine! And it amazingly looks great with the stripes too!

Make Your Own Lavender Bathtime Salts

I have to start this post off with a funny story.

A couple of years ago when I first started with my lavender bath salt obession, it was right around the time that all the highschool kids were getting in big trouble by using the strange drug they nick named “bath salts”.  I remember Seth coming home from work, looking at me very seriously, and telling me I shouldn’t use my bath salts any more.  I was waiting for him to start laughing, but the guy was dead serious.  He was actually concerned for me because he knew that I loved my lavender bath salts.  He cautiously started telling me about how he had watched the news and that my bath salts were not good!  I think he was worried I was going to become like of the troubled teen.

After I picked myself up off the floor from laughing, I had to explain to him that my Epsom Salts were NOT the same thing as this drug they call “Bath Salts”.  It actually took a bit of convincing for him to finally believe me.  I still laugh every time I think about that!!!

So onto the non-drug Bath salts…ha!

I LOVE lavender.  I just love it.  Pretty sure if I could put it on my cereal, I would….alright, maybe I don’t love it that much, but you get the picture?

These bath salts are my absolute favorite.  I take a bath just about every night.

The smell of the lavender essential oil is calming, and the epsom salts are great for sore muscles.

Plus, they make a fabulous gift!

Supplies:

A glass jar

epsom salts

lavender essential oil

Fill the jar with epsom salts.

Add about 6 drops of essential oil.

Screw the lid on tight and shake well.

Add a bow if it’s a gift and you’re all set!!!

Scoop a few tablespoons into your bath water for a calming experience.

P.S.  If you are planning on making this for a gift, make sure you buy enough supplies for you too.  Trust me, if you don’t, you’ll end up keeping the gift!!!;)
