  • Hello there! I am Paula Kathlyn and you have found me in one of my favorite places...my blog! I'm a Southern gal, a wife, and a Mama of two. If I could sum up my blog in just a few words they would be, "Making the every day a little more fun!"
My blog is home ec online, but don't let the home ec part fool ya. We aren't talking about your grandma's Home Ec here!
My goal is to make crafting, cooking, and homemaking fabulous, fun, and as easy as possible.
Why? Because life is too short to be boring :)

Fashion Friday

I’m finding it really hard to take myself seriously this morning.  I have a bowl of smashed up squash-baby food-that-went-wrong sitting right beside my cup of coffee that I promise you was heated and re-heated about 6 times.  I can’t tell yall how stinkin’ excited I am that today is Friday!!!  Two parents home all weekend is never a bad thing in my book.

Today is Fashion Friday.  I’m a Mama of 2 and let’s be honest, I don’t get up and get dressed and all ready every day.  In fact, to be reallllly honest, on Wednesday, I neither left my house nor changed out of my pajamas until about 8pm when I finally had a few minutes by myself to take a bath for crying out loud.

All that to say, I love fashion.  I love pinning 10 million fabulous, maybe some day I’ll be that stylish, outfits on my Style board.  But the bottom line is that, I’m doing good just to get dressed and where I’m going without getting food or snot or slobber all over me.  For instance, yesterday I decided to pack us all up and go to Target.  I pulled in the parking lot, looked down and realized Lorelei’s green been lunch had somehow been smeared all over my jeans.  I grabbed a baby wipe and did my best to wipe it off, but after realizing it was super glued on, I gave up and really didn’t care.  All I wanted was to get in Target.  I get us all out of the car in the SEVERE wind warning of weather, only to have my cup of coffee that I grabbed on my way over, pour out, or actually BLOW out, all over the top of my sweater.  By the time we got in Target and got everyone in the buggy, I totally forgot about the green bean pants and the coffee stained sweater.  The whole way through Target, I kept wondering why my sweater was so wet at the top, but figured Lorelei must have drooled, a lot, on it.  The funny thing is that after I kept smelling coffee randomly all day long, I finally remembered that I had totally spilt it all over myself.

Yall, I can not make this stuff up.

This is my everyday, and somehow, I absolutely love it…not necessarily in the moment, because if you would’ve asked me how I was feeling when I was trying to go in Target earlier, my adjectives would most definitely not have been “love this!”,  but later on when I sit on the sofa for a breather and recount all the craziness of the day.  I usually end up laughing pretty hard at myself.  This is my life right now and I am embracing it!

…or at least trying to.

Sooooo, back to Fashion Friday.  This is my attempt as a Mama who actually majored in Fashion and Interior Design (I know, you’d never know that, right?!?!) to try her best to put a fashionable outfit or two together.  At least fashionable enough for this small town;)

We had a warm week and now it’s gone cold again.  But those few warm days were sooo nice!

Almost had us tricked into thinking it was Spring…ahhhh.

This is how fancy we are around here.  While doing this glamorous photo shoot, this is what I am staring at in the background.

My 3 year old, running around in underwear and a Superman cape.

In our neighbors yard.

Oh wait.  This only gets better.

He not only ran around, he also decided to roll around, romp around, waller around.

Look closely at my face here.  It is saying, “Oh my word, if you only knew what I was looking at!”

Happy Friday yall!  I hope it’s as funny and non-serious as I’m sure mine will be:)

I am soooo not fashionable! The problem is this is the first point in my life that I have ever been interested in it so I don’t even have any past experience ;) One of my post baby plans is to buy pretty clothes (no more gray T-shirts for me!) with color and to wear more skirts, dresses, etc. I feel so old lately and I’m really not that old, but what looked cute on me at age 17 just doesn’t cut it anymore! So, I’m glad you are doing these posts because they give me ideas and heaven knows I need some help ;)
